The park is located on the east end of the Chinen Peninsula, which juts out into the sea, and is well-maintained. As you walk along the promenade, you will be greeted with a vast panoramic view of the endless blue sea and sky, and you can also look forward to the view from the observation deck.

Photographed from the promenade in front of the parking lot.

The blue sea and sky spread out below

From the gazebo on the observation deck, you can see the blue sea and cape below. It is a relaxing spot where you can sit on a bench and feel the sea breeze. It is also a popular spot for the sunrise on New Year’s Day, as the sun rises from the direction of Kudaka Island right in front of you.

cute happy spot

As you go down towards the cape, there is an open space where you can see four-leaf clovers shaped like hearts in the grass. The message “Be happy” is also cute. In fact, Nanjo City in Okinawa Prefecture is sometimes referred to as the “Heart City” because the shape of Nanjo City on a map is heart-shaped.

From emerald green to cobalt blue sea

The gradation of colors in the ocean created by coral reefs is truly a sight to behold. Beyond that, you can see Kudaka Island and, on clear days, Tsuken Island to the northeast. The area around the park is also a take-off point for paragliding, and you may occasionally see paragliders passing through the sky.

Drive around

The Niraikanai Bridge, which can be seen from Cape Chinen Park, is a popular driving spot, so we recommend stopping by here to take a break from driving or sightseeing at Sefa Utaki. In addition, every November, Nanjo City holds the “Shohashi Half Marathon”, where you can run a marathon while looking at this beautiful scenery. There may also be an option to visit in a marathon instead of just driving!

Niraikanai Photos

Search for loose characters in Heart Town

Admission tickets to Sefa Utaki are sold at the Nanjo City Regional Products Center near the entrance to Cape Chinen Park. The souvenir shop on the first floor has many goods featuring Nanjo City’s mascot character, the cute heart-shaped grandpa “Nanji.” If you love cute things, I think you’ll love it, so please stop by and take a look.

A scenic park facing the Pacific Ocean Cape Chinen Park, located in Chinen, Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture, is a park with a rich view facing the Pacific Ocean, near Seifa Utaki, a World Heritage site.
