Feel Okinawan Ocean by Light, Sound, Wind

DMM aquarium is an entertainment aquarium which combines the latest visual expressions and spatial representation. You could be healed by the harmonisation with nature.

When you enter the aquarium, you will be into an unrealistic world which was shown by a screen in the theater

After entering the aquarium, a beautiful Okinawa theme scenery will be projected in a large multi-screen in the theater every 10 minutes. Surrounded by pleasant images, sounds and wind, you will feel like inside the spectacular scenery of Okinawa that you normally cannot experience on a normal trip.

Jellyfish area is a fantastic and popular photo-taking spot

This jelly fish area is one of the most famous highlight areas to make you feel impressed. When you visit the area by passing through a deep-water like pathway, you will be amazed by fantastic multimedia effects together with the drifting jellyfish.  This serene ambiance will make you unintentionally stand still and feel.

Enjoy Shallow Water with White Sandy Beach

A white sandy beach and sparkling sun reflection on the shallow water are created to represent Okinawan beach. Standing on the boundless sea with colourful fish swims beneath your feet is the typical the scenery of Okinawan beach. It makes you want to go into the sea.

There is a room for you to stroll on the top of the tank with a glass corridor. Sharks and rays swim gracefully under your feet as if you are standing and walking on the ocean.  Furthermore, the tunnels and pathway are beautifully decorated that when you look down into it, you will have an amazing  sensation of being underwater with the fish. 

Interact with Marine Creatures in Touch Pool

Touch pool is a place where colourful starfish and doctor fish could be encountered and touched. It is a popular place among children. The tank with small and friendly sharks are also attractive. If you touch them gently, they will not flee. Therefore, even adults will feel excited in this area.

Enjoy Exquisite and Unique Food

There is a café where you can take a rest while looking at the huge tank. Dishes are mainly made of local Okinawan ingredients.  Moveover, the food can also help enhance the enjoyment. For example, tropical fruits are used to make colourful smoothies, fish-shaped gummy candies are added into the drinks and Okinawan cakes are in green colour. 

Interact with Animals Closely

Although it is an aquarium, you are not only able to meet with marine creatures, but also other animals. There is an area without glass in between you and the animals, so you are allowed to get up close to sloths, owls, and meerkats. Moreover, there is also a reptile area that you can also see crocodiles and penguins area.

If you install an DMM Aquarium app on your smartphone, you can know your current location in the aquarium. Also, the app allows you to know more about the fish and animals which are in front of you by tapping your device on the checkpoints. It is compatible with both English and Chinese.

It is not good to spend all your time on just looking at your smartphone.

The staff who is good at drawing provides some information on the blackboards such as a shadow of a butterfly fluttering on your feet, the owl moving into the hole of the tree. They make everywhere fun. Thus, please look around while you are moving.

Spend a Little Time to Have a Great Fun

DMM Aquarium is a great place where is easy to be accessed. It takes 20 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Furthermore, it is integrated into a shopping mall that provides a great convenience. Your shopping will not be affected by the weather. Just takes 1.5 to 2 hours to visit the mall.

Points Recommended by the Writer in Charge

Although there is a large tank that you can admire in the café, I love the big screen on the opposite side. The screen displays images of large creatures such as whale sharks and schools of fish moving around. It is a really impressive and unique space in the aquarium.
